• Contains (1) safe, non-toxic cleanser, (2) a moisturizer (glycerol, also known as glycerin), (3) an absorbing agent (superabsorbent startch copolymer), and (4) silver, all in the polyurethane matrix
• Both the cleanser and glycerol are soluble in wound fluid or skin moisture
• The superabsorbent starch copolymer contained in PolyMem draws wound fluid, which is known to contain natural growth factors and nutrients, to wound site
• Silver protects the dressing from microbial contamination
